Hotline Connect Client 1.7.2

RELEASE NOTES
-------------

This version of the Hotline Connect Client corrects several minor
bugs that were present in version 1.7.0. It incorporates a number
of new features since version 1.5.5. New functionality includes:

* New Features
**************

    INTERFACE
    - Moved the IP Aliasing option to the IP tab in Options.

* Bug Fixes
**************
- Corrected a problem with users being displayed in the incorrect
  colour in private chat.
- Fixed a crashing bug that occurred when getting information
  on users.
- A problem saving bookmarks has been resolved.
- A problem with the server crashing if a folder containing a
  shortcut to itself was downloaded has been fixed.
- Corrected a problem with some buttons not responding.
- An issue regarding loading Internet preferences in the PPC version
  has been resolved.

* Known Bugs
**************
- If you have a Voodoo 3 video card installed, running Hotline Client
  will hang your machine and/or cause display problems *unless* you
  first run some sort of 3D application, e.g. Quake.

* New Features
**************

    GENERAL
    - All data and preference files are now located in the Data
      subdirectory of your installation directory. Data files
      from previous versions are moved to this directory when
      an upgrade is performed.

    INTERFACE
    - All interface windows feature improved magnetism and can 
      be snapped together. They may be detached by moving them 
      while pressing the Alt/Option key. Sound has been added when
      snapping windows.
    - In Windows, pressing the toolbar button for a window that is
      open, but minimized, restores the window and makes sure that
      it is inside the screen boundaries.

    SERVERS WINDOW
    - The Servers window is now the unified interface for connecting
      to Hotline servers. All connecting is now done through the
      Servers window.
    - Bookmarks are now listed in the Server window.
    - "Tree-style" tracker and server listing in the Servers window.
    - New Tracker icons in the Server window.

    USERS WINDOW
    - New admin status indicator icons in the Users window.
    - New private mode status indicator when user is refusing
      private chats and messages.

    BANNERS
    - There is now a "Next Ad" button. You can skip advertisements
      that don't interest you.

    FILE WINDOW
    - Optional "Tree" or "Pane-style" listing of Files.
    - Items selected by the arrow keys aren't loaded until at least
      half a second has elapsed. Clicking on a folder loads the
      contents immediately.
    - Items may be dropped on icons in the Files window to upload 
      them. Additionally, you may drag files and folders in the Files        window to relocate them or create links.
    - In "Pane" mode the panes may be resized by dragging their
      borders.

    NEWS WINDOW
    - Optional "Tree" or "Pane-style" listing of News.
    - Unread news articles are displayed with emphasized text.
    - In "Pane" mode the panes may be resized by dragging their
      borders.
    - If a news bundle is double-clicked while the Alt/Option key
      is being held down then a new News environment is opened.

    USER INFO WINDOW
    - The user info window now features button for user 
      administration and communication: kick, open account, refresh,
      private message, and private chat. 
    - Folder downloads, folder uploads, and queued downloads are
      now displayed.

    PRIVATE CHAT WINDOW
    - The private chat window now has buttons for sending a private
      message, initiating a private chat, and retrieving user
      information.
    - The panes in the chat window can now be resized by dragging
      on their borders.

    PRIVATE MESSAGING
    - A private message can no longer be immediately dismissed by
      an erroneous press of the Enter key; half a second must first
      elapse. However, the Dismiss button may be clicked upon
      at any time.

    NETWORKING
    - Users can now tunnel the Hotline protocol through their
      HTTP proxy, if connecting to a version 1.7.x server.


* Bug Fixes
**************
- Fixed a news history bug that occurred when the list of
  read articles became large.
